Randall “Randy” Sweeney Sr., age 56, of Dane, Wisconsin and formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, died Sunday evening at the Meriter Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin.
Born July 17, 1952 in Bartley, West Virginia, the son of Oscar and Ellen (Smith) Sweeney.
Randall formerly worked for the Verhoff Alfalfa Mill and Campbell Soup Co., both of Napoleon, Ohio. He was a former member of the Apostolic Christian Center, Napoleon, Ohio.
Surviving is 3 sons, Brian (Corina) Kempe, Defiance, Ohio, Randall Jr. (Brenda) Sweeney, Napoleon, Ohio, Michael Boyd, Liberty Center, Ohio; 4 daughters Rebecca (Chris) Gottwald, Napoleon, Ohio, Sally (James) Beaverson, Liberty Center, Ohio, Ellen and Tasha Sweeney, both of Napoleon, Ohio.; 19 grandchildren; 2 brothers Dudley “Doug” (Janet) Sweeney, Napoleon, Ohio, Larry Dean (Angie) Sweeney, Waterville, Ohio; 2 sisters Janet (William) Sanderson, Crosby, Tenn and Janie (Dave) Sommers of Vermont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Gene and Oscar Sweeney and half brother Milton Sweeney and half sister Dixie Hedrick.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Gary Malone officiating. Interment will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 2 to 9 p..m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
