Biography
Paul M. Walters, age 84, of Napoleon, Ohio died Friday evening at the Napoleon Lutheran Home.
Born April 19, 1925 in Napoleon, Ohio, the son of Peter F. and Elsie F. (Hodge) Walters. On May 22, 1945 he married Annie Marchetti and she preceded him in death on December 23, 2004.
Paul was the owner and operator of the Paul’s Plumbing Shop of Napoleon. He was a WW II Navy veteran. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8218 and the Napoleon Legion Post 300 both of Napoleon and the DAV Post of Defiance.
Surviving Is one son Peter M. “Mike” Walters, Napoleon, Ohio; two daughters Patricia (Thomas) Merritt, Clayton, Michigan, Maria (Richard) Fankhauser, Lake Isabella, California; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death also by 4 brothers George, Fred, David and Peter Walters and 1 sister Maria Walters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Lee Genter, officiating. Entombment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance County, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon, Ohio.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10 a.m. up to the time of the service on Saturday.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Transportation Network.
