Biography

Howard J. Mitchell, age 86, of Napoleon, Ohio died Sunday at his home.
Born August 4, 1923 in Henry County, Ohio, the son of the late Robert and Matilda (Fox) Mitchell. On October 15, 1944 he married Wilma I. Oberhaus and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2004.

Howard was a self employed carpenter and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church , Napoleon., Ohio. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
Surviving is a son, Bob Mitchell of Napoleon and a daughter, Betty Lou (Gene) Smith of Napoleon.

He was preceded in death by brother, Arthur Mitchell and a sister, Lucille Schaper.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Peter C. Marcis, officiating. Interment will be made in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon., where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
