Life Legacy
Lawrence “Larry” L. Lather, age 72, of Napoleon, Ohio died Monday at his home.
Born February 20, 1937 in Henry County, Ohio, the son of Orville and Helen (Myers) Lather. On September 29, 1958 he married Betty A. Funchion, who survives of Napoleon.
Larry was a truck driver for the Wenham Transportation, Warren, Ohio and worked at the Campbell Soup Co. of Napoleon for 16 years, retiring in 1999. He was a Korea War Army veteran. He was a life member of AMVETS, the VFW , the American Legion , all of Napoleon and the Eagles Lodge, Montpelier, Ohio. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and of Christ United Methodist Church , both of Napoleon.
Surviving also are three sons, Larry (Beth), John (Yvonne), Dave (Tammy) Lather, all of Napoleon; grandchildren Brittni, Brandi, Amanda, Drew, Taelor, Jenna and Mya, great grandson Zane; brothers Dale (Linda), James, Robert (Diana), Ronald (Lorely) Lather and a sister Teresa (Wayne) Colby.
He was preceded in death by a sister Carol Plassman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Russell Shaeffer officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance Co., Ohio, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Henry County Home Health and Hospice.
