In Memoriam of Lavone Zachrich

Lavone Zachrich

December 12, 1920 - November 20, 2009

Lavone Zachrich, age 88, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Friday morning at the Henry County Hospital.
Born December 12, 1920 in Malinta, Ohio, the daughter of Asa and Libbie (Aderman) Geist. On June 30, 1946 she married Vernon R. Zachrich and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1985.
Lavone was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio and a former member of the Napoleon Fire Station Auxiliary. Lavone was a 1938 graduate of Malinta-Grelton High School where she was valedictorian and starred on the girl’s basketball team.
Surviving are two sons Richard L. (Julie) Zachrich, Arroyo Grande, California, Randy S. (Cindy) Zachrich, Coldwater, Michigan; one daughter Jean (Bruce) Kahn, Carlsbad, California and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death also by her brother Arthur Geist and her sister Madonna Boyd.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. Peter Marcis, officiating. Interment will be made in Hoy Cemetery, Harrison Township.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church.
