Biography

Harold L. Blue, age 82, of Napoleon, Ohio died Thursday evening at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 31, 1927 in Napoleon, Ohio, the son of Ernest L. and Maude Mae (Heckler) Blue. On June 20, 1948 he married Margie Gene Fruchey, who survives of Napoleon.
Harold owned the Blues Commerce Park ( Blue’s General Sales) of Napoleon. He was a WW II Navy veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 300, of Napoleon.
Surviving is two daughters Trudy (Lynn) Wachtmann and Judy (Robert) Stewart, both of Napoleon; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and family friend Russ VanMeter.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother Paul Z. Blue, 1 sister Kathlene Blue and 1 nephew, who he raised, Thomas P. Blue.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Lindy Maurice Saum, officiating. Entombment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance County, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 2 to 9 P.M.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Henry Co. Hospice, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Henry County Humane Society or the Napoleon Rescue Squad.
