Sylvia L. Bowles, age 95, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Tuesday afternoon at the Napoleon Lutheran Home.
Born January 16, 1914 in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Paul L. and Bertha (Kemp) Coan. On October 21, 1933 she married Ziba H. Bowles and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1985.
Sylvia was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Napoleon.
Surviving is one son Walter (Caroll) Bowles, McClure, Ohio; one daughter Bonnie (Jim) Hickle, Weston, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death also by one son Larry Bowles, two daughters Joanne Gallagher, Loretta June Bowles, one great grandson, one sister Irene Bryant and half brother Harold Ancil.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Russell Shaeffer, officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Cancer Society, the Napoleon Lutheran Home, the church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
